"OUT OF THE BOX"
Montreal, Quebec CAN
c. 2017

This sculptural artwork is a representation of the diversity and creativity in the sneaker culture. The shoe is an object that is often considered banal, but it is the reflection of a personality and a certain way of life. Its primary function is to protect our feet from the elements that can make our feet vulnerable. In the context of today, shoes are an element of style that must embellish the dress style of the person wearing them. It is that diversity and the creative process behind the product that makes it so special and valuable to our eyes. The bold colored shoes mean the diversity while the red box is a direct reference to the Nike shoe box, which is an icon of the sneaker culture.
