"BANNED X"
Montreal, Quebec CAN

This drawing and painting project is a representation of the duality between conservative values and emerging values through the Air Jordan 1. This duality is transposed since the history of the pair itself. Indeed, the Air Jordan 1 was banned from the NBA because it did not meet the color standard of the latter. The NBA only accepted gray, black and white colors. Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore, the designers behind the iconic shoe, challenged this infamous rule by putting the colors of the Chicago Bulls, red and black. The designers were the vanguard of the culture that will surround the sneakers a few years later. This infamous rule created a big controversy by charging Nike and Michael Jordan over $ 5,000 per game played with the pair. From there, we can see this duality between old values and new ideas.
